- Description
- The US Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) Belvoir Division on behalf of Project Manager Expeditionary Energy and Sustainment Systems (PM E2S2) Product Manager Small Power Sources is seeking industry feedback on the draft Platoon Power Generator (PPG) Purchase Description. The feedback will be considered when weighing the design tradeoffs before the final Purchase Description is released. The PPG program's key performance parameters are power output, fuel type, weight, and size. While all requirements in the draft Purchase Description are desired, requirements that drive the design away from the key performance parameters may be adjusted. The Product Manager is seeking feedback identifying any requirements that could cause meeting key performance parameters to be unachievable. The Product Manager is also seeking feedback identifying any requirements that are unclear, unachievable, or excessive cost drivers. Recommendations for other areas of Purchase Description improvements may also be considered. All feedback should be as detailed and specific as possible. The Government would like information on how it can best satisfy its needs to include: 1. Focus comments on sections 1-3. The Government is looking for comments on how these requirements affect your cost and design. What other requirements do they affect? Add any others comments you may have. 2. How does the starting of motors impact or drive your design? 3. Does CARC painting of set drive your cost and/or design? Interested parties with information to satisfy the above should submit a white paper, not to exceed 10 pages. Responses should also include point of contact information to include: company name, contact name, company address, website (if available), contact phone number, and contact email address. The responses received to this Request for Information is for information purposes only and does not mandate or impose requirements. This notice is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, the information will be considered in the Government's acquisition planning. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. It is desirable that data be received with unlimited rights to the Government. However, the Government recognizes that proprietary data may be included with the information provided. If so, clearly mark such proprietary information and clearly separate it from the unrestricted information as an addendum. Contractors shall provide all information being requested in this notice no later than close of business on 16 October 2015 by electronic mail at no cost to the Government, to Deirdre Hughes, Deirdre.L.Hughes.civ@mail.mil. Please use the EMAIL SUBJECT: Contractor Name PPG Request for Information. Email shall be limited to 10MB. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
