- 2015 Small Business Symposium Details: October 19, 2015 ARMY CONTRACTING COMMAND - NEW JERSEY (ACC-NJ) 2015 SMALL BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM presents "Opportunities in Federal Contracting" Traditional and Non-Traditional Approaches to Doing Business with the Federal Government DATE: Monday, October 19, 2015 (Full-Day Program) LOCATION: New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Newark, NJ WEBSITE: http://www.ncma-picatinny.org/smallbusiness/ REGISTER: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/2015-ncma-picatinny-small-business-symposium-tickets-16327950339?aff=es2 CONTACT: smallbusiness@ncma-picatinny.org Click on the attachment for detailed information. ***************** SYNOPSIS The 2015 Small Business Symposium will offer two educational tracks addressing both traditional and non-traditional approaches to doing business with the Federal Government. The full-day program will include seminars, panel discussion and break-out sessions, as well as an exhibit hall that will be open throughout the event. This educational event will address key business, technical, and legal issues from an integrated Industry/Government perspective. Speakers, attendees and exhibitors will include representatives of Government agencies, small and large businesses, and consortia operating under established Other Transaction Agreements (OTA). ***************** This Full-Day Educational Program Offers a Choice of Sessions in Two Educational Tracks. TRACK 1: NON-TRADITIONAL APPROACHES: Other Transaction Agreements (OTA) The Non-Traditional track will provide an introduction to doing business with the Government under OTAs. These agreements are more flexible and less burdensome than a traditional Government contract because they are not subject to compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The Government authorized the use of OTAs to forge a more direct connection to suppliers of leading-edge research and technology, through projects that involve prototyping. The OTA approach incorporates preferences for concerns that do not ordinarily work with the Government: Non-Traditional Defense Contractors (NDC). TRACK 2: TRADITIONAL APPROACHES: FAR-based Contracts This track will provide an overview of the traditional method of working with the Federal Government under a FAR-based contract. This track will help demystify the process by providing practical information on government contracting while reviewing the preferences built into the FAR system to encourage small business growth and development. Lastly, the program will identify key resources available to small businesses for ongoing support and guidance. ***************** This educational Program was developed after coordination with the U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ) and the Picatinny Office of Small Business Programs. ***************** The Program is produced by the NCMA Picatinny Chapter THIS IS A SPECIAL NOTICE ONLY AND IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLITIATION.
