Description

Overview: Nutrition & Food Services (120), Perry Point VAMC, VAMHCS, is responsible for preparing 1800 meals per day for all three VAMHCS sites. Some of the menu items that are prepared require dairy products to complete the total meal that is served to the patients. The purpose of this request is to ensure the dairy food items may be consumed by patients. The requested food group (milk) is required in order to serve nutritious meals required to the patients and is an important function of food preparation. Purpose: This contact is essential in food production to safely maintain Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines for food production and to provide patients food products to match their individual diet requirements.
