THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR BID, PLANS AND SPECS ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. THE TENTATIVE ADVERTISEMENT DATE IS OCTOBER 2015. THIS PROJECT WILL BE ADVERTISED ON A FULL AND OPEN BASIS. Scope of Work: PROJECT DETAILS: PROJECT DETAILS: OK FLAP SH49(1) SH49 WIDENING AND RESURFACING & OK TRIP WIMO SH49(1) WICHITA MOUNTAIN TRAIL Project Location The OK FLAP SH49(1) & OK TRIP WIMO SH49(1) project is located just east of Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge and north of Fort Sill in Comanche County, Texas near the city of Lawton, Oklahoma. Scope of the Work PROJECT DETAILS: This project, Schedule A and Option X, will provide milling of the existing roadway, an 7' asphalt widening on each side of the roadway, and resurfacing to the 2.76 miles of State Highway 49 from the East entrance of Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge to State Highway 58. Option Y will construct a new nature trail in Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge starting at Elmer Thomas Lake parking lot and continuing 0.589 miles southeast from there. Type of Construction: Asphalt milling, roadway excavation, grading, drainage improvements, aggregate base, asphalt paving, erosion control, signing and striping, guardrail removal and installation, seeding and mulching, and temporary traffic control. Prospective bidders are hereby alerted that if Option Y is awarded, this work will need to be completed before March 1st to avoid conflict with various threatened and endangered species located in that area. Estimated total cost for this project is between $4,500,000.00 to $6,500,000.00
