Description
Red River Army Depot (RRAD) has a requirement for wire brushes which will be used in the mission to overhaul and repair track shoes and road wheels for the U.S. Army's continuous track vehicles. The refurbishment of road wheels includes inspection, removal of old rubber (rubber denuding), metal cleaning, application of metal-to-rubber adhesive, vulcanization of new rubber onto the road wheels, and final painting. A custom mechanical wire brush system is used to remove rubber from Abrams Battle Tank Ml aluminum road wheels. As a result, only the products listed on the RRAD Local Qualified Products List (LQPL) will be considered for award. Current RRAD LQPL include: Osborn P/N 1385-S-22 Danline P/N 07000 RRAD will be testing wire brushes for the mechanical denuding machine for inclusion on the Qualified Products List (QPL) for future program requirements. Vendors wishing to have their products tested and approved for addition to the LQPL will be required to furnish 24 brushes for testing. The brushes must be in accordance with RRAD Drawing 2031826B. The drawing is available upon written request only. Samples should be shipped by traceable means. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information and/or samples in response to this Sources Sought or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this synopsis is to: 1. Expand the Local Qualified Products List 2. Gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of Small and Large Business Community to include 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to compete and perform a Firm Fixed Price Contract. No award will be made as a result of this Sources Sought. This sources Sought is only to seek information from industry. Please submit letter of interest to include: 1. Any certifications 2. Any past Government awards 3. Business size and status 4. Request for Drawing 2031826 Submit these documents to Eugene.a.peterson6.civ@mail.mil with the subject title "Wire Brush Sources Sought". Instructions for Submittal of Samples: Samples shall include: 24 each wire brushes 1. Vendors shall submit brushes to the following address: Red River Army Depot Bldg. 493, Attention: William Bono/Alan Moffat Texarkana, TX 75507-5000 Red River Army Depot will not be responsible for lost or misdirected samples. All samples must be received on depot by 5 November 2015. Testing will take place in the production environment and be phased with workload requirements.
