- Justification for Exception to Fair Opportunity, #15,259, for Juniper VPN/Firewall Appliances and Maintenance. The proposed contract action is to procure the Juniper virtual private network (VPN)/firewall appliances and associated maintenance support. The appliances and associated support will be utilized within the existing Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) current unclassified high throughput transport boundary (uHTTB), unclassified transport boundary (uTB), and deployable site transport boundary (DSTB) VPN enclave to provide high-speed, highly available, secure connections linking the MCEN local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). The uHTTB, uTB, DSTB, and interconnecting WAN compose the backbone Intranet transport services of the MCEN.
