- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District will host an Industry Day for the Isabella Lake Dam Safety Modification Project scheduled for award in the 4th quarter of 2017. The purpose of this Industry Day is to improve Industry's understanding of USACE's requirements, answer questions on the Lake Isabella Dam project and gain an understanding of how the construction community can support this program. INDUSTRY DAY INFORMATION: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District is seeking a construction contractor for a major Civil Works project to rehabilitate the dams and spillways at Lake Isabella, located in Kern County, CA. Major project features include: raising the two existing embankments sixteen feet with foundation excavation and de-watering operations; a new Emergency Spillway including significant blasting and excavation (approximately 3 million cubic yards); processing excavated material for use as filter, drain, and concrete aggregates; construction of a concrete labyrinth weir; modifications to existing and construction of new concrete structures; an on-site concrete batch plant (approximately 60,000 cubic yards); abandonment/demolition of an outlet works; and, relocation of recreation areas. The Dam and outlet works will be functional for normal and flood routing operations during construction. The estimated construction period is three and a half to four years. Although the design is not complete, the Government recognizes that this will be a large, complex project. Therefore, for informational purposes the Government will provide draft drawings of the proposed project site. Estimated Cost Range of the Project: $250,000,000.00 to $500,000,000.00. Location: Double Tree Hotel 3100 Camino Del Rio Court Bakersfield, CA 93308 Date: 20 October 2015 Time: 8:00-10:00am The Industry Day meeting will take place in the California Room. In addition to the Industry Day, a site visit willl also be held that afternoon. The site visit will take place at approximately 2pm at Lake Isabella. For planning and logistical purposes, contractors (prime, subcontractors, suppliers, etc) interested in participating shall RSVP by submitting your company name, address, and the names of individuals attending to Melissa.A.DeNigris@usace.army.mil no later than 15 October 2015. RESPONSE REQUESTED: Additionally, the Sacramento District is soliciting feedback from industry as part of our market research efforts associated with this acquisition. The following information is requested with this Industry Day announcement with a limit of ten (10) pages for your response. Responses are due by 15 October 2015 at 10:00AM by email to the POC or the information can be hand delivered at the event. 1. Organization name, address, email address, website address, telephone number, and business size (small or large) and type of ownership for the organization; include DUNS number and CAGE code. 2. Firm's interest in participating in the Lake Isabella Dam Phase II project. Please address your firm's specific capabilities and interests for particular scopes of work, specialty trades, or areas of expertise. Also address your firm's bonding capacity. 3. Experience: Interested firms are requested to provide examples of relevant project experience. Relevant experience would be projects involving dam and spillway work, as a sub-contractor, on large complex projects on a remote project site. 4.
