Description

Sole source justification. Intent to Award Sole Source: Boston Scientific Corporation THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: Boston Scientific Corporation 300 Boston Scientific Way Marlborough, MA 01752 The objective of this sole source award is to acquire one (1) Subcutaneous Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) and one (1) Single Chamber ICD. Sole source is based on proprietary reasons in that Boston Scientific Corporation is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the FDA approved Subcutaneous ICD and the only distributor able to provide a single chamber ICD that meets the salient characteristic requirements of the end user. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339112; the small business size standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 2:00 PM Pacific Time on October 27, 2015 may be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Elizabeth Sanders at elizabeth.n.sanders.civ@mail.mil. The email subject line shall state, "Naval Medical Center San Diego, "Intent to Award Sole Source to Boston Scientific Corporation." A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED
