Description

This is PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE- The Department of Veterans Affairs will award a firm fixed price contract to a contractor that is able to supply and deliver road salt to the Bedford VA Medical Center, located at 200 Springs Rd, Bedford, MA 01730. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on October 19, 2015 and will be issued as a total small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 325998 with a size standard of 500 employees. NO FORMAL SOLICITATION EXSISTS AT THIS TIME. Product will be delivered upon request of the Grounds Supervisor, to maintain this facility's salt inventory for entire snow/ice season. Period of performance will be October 2015 through April 30, 2016. All deliveries will be made during normal business hours 7am-4pm, M-F, unless requested otherwise by the Grounds Supervisor. Deliveries shall be made within 24 hours of the delivery request. The Bedford VA Medical Facility has a salt storage building and deliveries will be dropped inside the building as close as possible to salt pile. VA Grounds staff will be responsible for restacking the salt after delivery. The product will be a straight road/rock salt, and shall be delivered in 20-25 ton amounts; this facility's salt storage shed will not accommodate larger loads. Total delivery shall not exceed 575 tons. A product delivery slip shall be provided for each delivery; all deliveries must be signed on site by the Grounds Supervisor or his/her designee at the time of delivery.
