- SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS ONLY A MARKET SURVEY FOR WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUCEMENT. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointments for presentations will be made. The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone Small Business concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB), 8(a) certified Small Business concerns, Woman-Owned Small Business concerns or Small Business concerns, or solicit Unrestricted. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238350, with a small business size standard of $15 Million. The estimated value of the procurement is between $100,000 and $200,000. Performance and/or Payment bonds will be required. The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking Interested Vendors with successful past performance, current relevant experience, personnel/resources, equipment, and capability to perform the following work - Replace the exterior wood door and vestibule door at McAllister Hall West Entrance, add ADA accessibility at South East Entrance, replace steel doors at east side and north side of interior courtyard and add a trench drain in courtyard on McAllister Hall. Project shall include all materials and labor as required to completely replace the exterior double doors and interior vestibule double doors, intermediate transom, door hardware, trim, wall panels, blocking, lettering, etc. to the existing masonry and wood framed opening at the west face of McAllister Hall as noted on the drawings. The existing storefront frame at this location (Door 101) shall be completely removed including the intermediate transom and McAllister Hall lettering. The leaded glass palladium arch transom shall remain in place. The arch transom shall have glazing putty removed and new putty installed on both sides of glazing. New Stainless Steel metal stops shall be installed as required to keep glazing securely in place. All new door hardware, stainless steel hinges, stainless steel solid core door pulls, rim exit devices, closers, keyed removable mullion, and new infill panel at the transom for building name. Existing letters for building name shall be removed, cleaned, recoated and reinstalled at new location. The interior vestibule entrance (Door 102) shall completely replace the doors, door frame, door hardware, trim, blocking, etc. to existing panel wall. New mahogany doors and 14 gauge steel frame shall be installed with four stainless steel butt hinges per leaf, brushed stainless steel hardware, kick plates, solid stainless steel push bars, solid stainless steel pulls, and closers. At all removable mullions, there shall be one continuous silencer strip attached to the face of mullion running top to bottom the same width as the mullion. Patch and repair masonry, gypsum, and wood panel board walls as required for installation of new doors, frames, trim, etc. Protect flooring in and around vestibule from any damage. Doors 101 and 102 shall be constructed from Sapele Mahogany wood species and shall be assembled using mortise and tenon joinery. Door 101 shall be painted bright white. Door 102 shall receive a clear finish. The exterior trim and door façade shall be primed and painted bright white. The entire wall face on both sides of the interior vestibule doors shall be painted to the edge of the wall that contains the doors. The exterior base trim and column bases shall have the exterior trim removed and replaced with PVC trim matching the existing profiles. PVC trim can extend and touch the concrete slab. Do not prime PVC trim, only paint is required. Remove and replace all applied trim at exterior façade with PVC trim, match molding profile. Doors 105 and 106 and their metal frames at the interior courtyard shall be removed. New 14 gauge door frame and steel double door shall be installed. Door 105 is oversized 8 foot wide by 8 feet tall opening. Doors and frames shall be powder coated prior to installation. A new concrete trench drain shall be installed in front of door 105 and connected to existing catch basins on both sides. The new doors, frames, trim, etc. are based on the original building drawings, historic photographs, field measurement of original components and current code requirements. All work shall be done by licensed contractors and shall comply with current codes. Performance period is estimated to be 17 weeks (lead time 8-12 weeks), with 5 weeks on-site. No work on-site between 16-20 May 2016. Your response should include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a proposal for this solicitation as prime contractor; (b) evidence of bonding capacity; (c) a statement identifying your certified small business designation (if any); and, (d) evidence of prior successful building repair work similar to scope (commercial door replacement) to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers. Your response is required no later than 22 October 2015. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on an applicable set-aside.
