- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement Contract N00019-12-G-0006 with the Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office on an ‘other than full and open' competitive basis to address retrofit impacts to the MV-22 Osprey. The BFT1 aircraft conversion from an initial dash one configuration to the current dash two configuration. The need is for the installation of previously procured conversion kits for eight Blue Force Tracker 1 (BFT 1) -2 configuration systems onto seven MV-22 Osprey aircraft and one Aircraft Maintenance Trainer (AMT). This change will be incorporated via forced retrofit onto Fleet aircraft and the AMT. Bell-Boeing is the sole developer, designer, and manufacturer of the V-22 aircraft. As such, Bell-Boeing is the only responsible source with the necessary access to the technical data and requisite expertise to perform the contemplated effort with the required schedule. Bell-Boeing is the sole source managing database requirements for the V-22.
