Description

The Veterans Health Administration in Des Moines Iowa has a requirement for Virtual Pharmacy Services under the Enhanced Medical Sharing Authority, Title 38 U.S.C. 8153 implementing Public Law 104-262 in accordance with VHA Directive 1663 for executing medical service contracts. The services are to be performed remotely for Veteran Affairs Central Iowa Health Care System (VA CIHCS) and The Fort Dodge VA Clinic. The contractor will be responsible for providing a current and unrestricted licensed Pharmacist to complete orders for bedded patients, emergency room patient and outpatients for Central Iowa Healthcare System as requested. This includes the professional review and problem solving needed to assure safe appropriate medication processing. All costs under this program are services performed by the contractor and will be tracked and invoiced. There will be no other costs chargeable under this contract. The contractor shall accept payment for services rendered under the contract as payment in full. VA beneficiaries shall not under any circumstances be charged nor their insurance companies charged for services rendered by the contractor. This will be a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source bridge contract with the incumbent vendor to allow time for a competitive solicitation to be issued and awarded. The length of the contract will be 6 months with one 6 month option. It is anticipated to be awarded prior to 11/1/2015 and the base will expire on 4/30/2016. A competitive solicitation will be posted later via the Federal Business Opportunities website for a longer term contract.
