Description

The Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking the services of a qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business construction company to provide all labor, material, transportation, equipment and qualified supervision required to construct the "Expand and Improve Chiller Capacity" project #652-14-104 located at the H.H. McGuire VA Medical Center, 1201 East Broad Rock Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia, 23249. In general, the project scope requirements include alteration and expansion of the existing chilled water system (interior and exterior), and all associated mechanical, plumbing and electrical utility systems. Work also includes demolition and removal of existing structures, new construction of a 2400 square foot addition to the existing main Utility Plant building to house the new chiller system, and construction of a new 800 square foot free standing building to house the electrical switchgear. Contractor shall perform the work in logical, successive phases as indicated on the drawings and specifications to keep the existing utility plant in operation. The work shall be performed in strict accordance with construction drawings and specifications prepared by Avetech Design Group and completed within 400 days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This includes final Inspection and cleanup. The NAICS code for this project is 236220 with a small business size standard of $36.5 million. The estimated construction cost is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. The drawings and specifications will be uploaded as part of the solicitation on or about 11/5/2015. A date and time for a pre-proposal conference / site visit will be stated in the solicitation. No other site visits will be conducted. Questions or Requests for Information (RFI's) from Bidders must be typewritten and e-mailed to the Contracting Officer, Mark S. Harville @ mark.harville@va.gov. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Offers are solicited only from SDVOSB concerns and offers received from concerns that are not from SDVOSB concerns shall not be considered.
