- The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for medical consultant services in a variety of specialties to work under Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA). The services involve the review of medical evidence in disability claims filed under Title II and XVI of SSA?s Disability Programs. The specialties of interest are as follows: Internal medicine, General Practice and Family Practice; Orthopedics; Pediatrics; Other Physical Medicine Specialties; Psychology; Psychiatry; Audiology; Ophthalmology; and Speech and Language Pathology. No patient contact will be involved. Computer proficiency is necessary to complete forms, read and answer email messages, and type narrative consultations. The service is performed at 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY 10278 and 155-10 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica, NY 11432, or other SSA offices when specifically authorized. The associated North American Industrial Classification Code for Physicians Offices (except Mental Health) is 621111!, with a small business standard of $11 million, and for Physician Offices (Mental Health) is 621112, with a small business standard of $11 million. This requirement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Quotations received from other than small businesses will not be considered. This acquisition is for commercial services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. BPA awardees, or their key personnel, will be required to undergo a security background screening which will include completion of fingerprint cards before beginning performance under the BPA. To be eligible for award, an offeror must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at www.sam.gov prior to award. Offerors must have a Dun and Bradstreet (DUNS) number to begin registration. The period of performance will be from January 1, 2016 (or date of award) for a period of five years.
