- THIS NOTICE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR EITHER A QUOTE OR PROPOSAL, OR AN INVITATION FOR BID. THE INTENT OF THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL OFFERORS TO PERFORM SELECTED COMPENENTS OVERHAULING FOR THE K-1, 25 TON PORTAL CRANE AT TRIDENT REPAIR FACILITY, KINGS BAY, GA. NO SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS OR DRAWINGS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The solicitation number will be N62470-16-R-2002. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of qualified and interested parties in any of the following categories: large business, small business, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) certified 8(a), SBA certified HUBZone, woman owned small business (WOSB), veteran-owned small business (VOSB), and service disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). Potential sources should have current relevant qualifications, experience, personnel and capability that can provide all labor, material, equipment, and supervision to perform the following functions for overhauling a 25 Ton portal crane: Replacement of the slewing ring (rotate) bearing Replacement of the travel drive assemblies Replacement of the diesel engine-generator set Replacement of the Forsheda rings and gudgeon pin seals Replacement of the sheave bearings and seals Replacement of the travel wheel bearings and seals Replacement of the wire ropes and wire rope end fittings for the main, whip and boom hoists Replacement of the horizontal and vertical gudgeon pins including seals replacement Replacement of the travel drive electrical control systems Replacement of the limit switches Replacement of the master switch controls in the operators cabin Replacement of the floodlights/spotlights, and all general lighting on the crane to LED type Replacement of the existing line rider Load Indicator (LMI) on main hoist with a different type of overload system. Removal and reinstall the external counterweight with new design of attachment system Prepare a report on all electrical, mechanical and structural deficiencies uncovered during performance of this contract, that are outside the scope of the maintenance and repairs required by this contract The Government will use the sources sought responses along with other market research to make various determinations regarding any resulting procurement action. Any resulting contract will be a single award and will incorporate Firm Fixed Price (FFP) provisions. The anticipated award date is March 2016. The primary NAICS code for this procurement is 333923, Overhead Traveling Crane, Hoist, and Monorail System Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. However, the information provided will be used for technical and acquisition planning. All proprietary information not to be disseminated in Government documents must be clearly identified. Responses to the attached questions must be submitted in electronic form (Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format) and should be attached to an email addressed to luke.clay@navy.mil. Responses are limited to 5 pages in length and SHOULD ONLY INCLUDE THE INFORMATION REQUESTED IN THE ATTACHED QUESTIONNAIRE. Do not submit brochures or other corporate marketing information. The due date for responses is 2:00 PM EASTERN TIME, NOVEMBER 5, 2015. Please identify in the subject line of your response K-1 PORTAL CRANE SOURCES SOUGHT .
