Description

REPLACE BUILDING 17 ELECTRICAL - OMAHA VA MEDICAL CENTER: This project replaces a polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) filled transformer and two (2) motor control centers located in Building 17 of the Omaha VAMC located at 4101 Woolworth Avenue, Omaha, NE 68105-1850. Work includes all the necessary labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation and supervision to perform the required electrical demolition and construction work required by the drawings and specifications and all applicable local and VA codes. Major items of work include, but not limited to, the abatement of hazardous materials (PCB containing dialectic fluid), disassembly and removal of existing transformer and motor control centers, installation of a new transformer, medium-voltage automatic transfer switch, feeders, circuit breakers, motors, conductors, and variable-frequency drives (VFDs). All hazardous materials shall be disposed of in accordance with all local and state codes. Additionally, the duration of power outages should be minimized and a backup generator shall be provided as prescribed to prevent loss of power to vital systems. Solicitation Number VA263-16-R-0003 for this effort will be posted to FedBizOpps (www.fedbizopps.gov) on or about November 18, 2015. This solicitation will contain all necessary specifications, drawings and other information necessary to bid the project. An Organized Site Visit will be held. (See solicitation when available for date, time and location). Proposals are tentatively scheduled to be due on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 (see solicitation when available for specific time/date). The period of performance for this project will be 210 calendar days from the issuance and this time period includes all lead times for material/equipment acquisition, document preparation, and all submittals. Construction shall not begin until all materials have been acquired for use and the actual on-site construction timeframe shall not exceed 90 calendar days from the on-site work. THIS SOLICITATION IS SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES (SDVOSBs) UNDER PUBLIC LAW 109-461. Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects: The estimated cost of the total project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
