- Description
- MCC-16-RFI-0019 Medical Assistance Services for MCC Personnel Traveling or Living Abroad This is a Request For Information (RFI) for medical assistance and security services for the MCC. The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) requires medical assistance services and other medical and security services for its personnel and eligible family members when on official travel to and from authorized destinations abroad or on permanent assignment abroad. All services will be provided on a 24/7 basis when covered persons are 100 or more miles away from their permanent residence. Contractor-provided medical assistance services include referrals for medical and dental care, travel services to reach medical aid, transfer of medical records to travelers and doctors, notification of emergency contacts, messaging and translations services, and replacement of lost medical devices and corrective lenses. Other services include medical, mental health, transfer of safe medicines, vaccines, and blood products; transportation of family and travel companions to join patients or return home (in the case of children); dissemination of travel advisories; and location tracking of travelers in coordination with MCC's travel management contractor. Training for identifying and responding to emergency situations is an optional deliverable. The selected contractor will work in accordance with U.S. Chief of Mission protocols when possible, i.e. by first contacting U.S. Embassy staff in most emergency situations, and working in tandem with U.S. Embassy medical and security staffs, and, if possible, the injured party or his/her guardian.
