- Market Survey W15QKN-16-X-3086 Meltable Fuze Plug (MFP) The U.S Army Contracting Command (ACC) - New Jersey, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager of Combat Ammunitions Systems (PM-CAS) is conducting market research to identify qualified and capable sources to produce, manufacture, assemble, inspect, test, package, and ship the 155mm Meltable Fuze Plug (MFP). This is a market survey for information purposes only and not a request for proposal or announcement of a solicitation. Item Description : The following item description describes the 155mm MFP in sufficient detail to respond to this market survey. The 155mm MFP is composed of a molded part fabricated from an Ionomer combined with a steel washer. The injection molded plug is designed to melt when exposed to excessive temperatures to provide venting to the artillery projectiles. The molded part is combined with the stamped and anti-corrosion surface treated 3.75” diameter x.337” high mild steel washer, up to 0.09” thick and is designed to support the load of pallets stacked on top of the bottom pallet. The steel washer is designed to provide shock attenuation if the projectile is dropped. The Packaging and Marking shall be in accordance with Picatinny Local Clause 52.211-4000 (Commercial Packaging Requirements). The MFP shall be separated by fiberboard separators to prevent damage to finish and threads. These Meltable Fuze Plugs are required for delivery to the Load, Assemble, and Pack (LAP) operations at American Ordnance LLC, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. The planned requirement, subject to change, shall be a Firm Fixed Price type contract to include a base award with (4) options for FY17-21. The estimated quantity to be purchased over the five (5) year period is 1,569,571 units for the 155mm artillery requirements. Submission Information : Interested contractors should submit the following information: 1) Name of company, address and CAGE code 2) Point of Contacts, name, telephone number, and email address 3) Business size information 4) Location of the facility or proposed facility 5) Description of Facilities, Personnel, Manufacturing Capabilities and how they directly relate to the Plug, Fuze, Melting for Insensitive Munitions (IM). 6) Estimated minimum and maximum monthly production capacities, and the minimum procurement quantity required for production; and 7) Respondents shall state if they are currently manufacturing this item or have made this item or similar items in the past. 8) Additionally, interested small business contractors should address if manufacturing resources are shared with other item/production lines and identify the approximate amount shared. This Market Survey notice is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or part, any private sector input as a result of this Market Survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results. This information must be submitted 15 calendar days from the date of this publication. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a Solicitation Notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The information provided will not be returned.
