Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Air Combat Electronics Program (PMA 209) intends to negotiate contract modification with Harris Corporation, 2400 Palm Bay Road NE Palm Bay, FL 32905-3377. The contract modification is for the procurement of obsolescence upgrade with an addition of eight (8) fibre channel ports to the Fibre Channel Network Switch (FCNS) in support of continued production for the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G platforms to enable the functional capabilities of the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ). This acquisition is being pursued on a sole-source basis under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2301(c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, "only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Harris Corporation is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of all FCNS. Harris Corporation is the only company that has the knowledge, experience, and technical data required to successfully deliver the FCNC system to meet the requirements of the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G platforms. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Harris Corporation directly. This synopsis is not a Request for Proposals. The Government does not intend to fund the development or qualification of other sources for fulfilling this requirement. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency.
