- Description
- The Station/Wing Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Westone Laboratories, Inc., dba. Westone Kalamazoo, 2235 Executive Circle, Colorado Springs, CO 80906-4137, (Cage Code: 3T081) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Marine Aircraft Logistics Squadron (MALS) 14, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement to establish a contract for custom fit ear plugs used for hearing protection and communication for pilots. Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required items. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Westone Laboratories, Inc., the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the machines. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which, if received within fifteen (15) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
