- Description
- RFI - Miniaturized Devices The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is issuing this RFI, as defined in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e). The Government is requesting information regarding the availability and capability of those companies who can provide equipment and services to meet the FBI's miniaturized devices requirement. This RFI includes a draft of the system requirements and evaluation criteria. The information received as a result of this request will serve as a market and technology survey to assist the FBI in its development strategy for the requirements identified in this notice. As technology drives smaller devices producing higher quality audiovisual data, user expectations also increase. However, high quality audiovisual data places greater demands on networks, storage, and associated systems. The goal of this initiative is to identify miniaturized transcievers (devices or systems) to provide high quality audiovisual data transmission. See attached RFI notice for additional details. DISCLAIMER There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation as a result of this RFI. The Government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. This is being issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. In accordance with FAR 15.202(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Respondents to this RFI will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the result of the review. Responses may be evaluated by Government technical experts, drawn from staff within the FBI and/or selected support contractor personnel. Support contractors will be bound by appropriate non-disclosure agreements to protect proprietary information. By submitting information in response to this RFI, vendors are agreeing to voluntarily allow the Government to share the information they submit with the FBI's support contractors who are, or will be, covered by a non-disclosure agreement. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and must be clearly marked. Responders are encouraged to avoid use of excessive marketing lexicon; submission of fancy brochures; and other unnecessary sales literature. The group reviewing responses may seek further clarification from respondents. The clarification may be requested in the form of brief verbal communication by telephone, written communication, or electronic communication. In addition, RFI respondents may be invited to present a demonstration to the reviewing group.
