- Description
- The United States Coast Guard, Civil Engineering Unit - Providence, has a construction requirement to Replace Hog Island Channel Light REPAIR HOG ISLAND CHANNEL LIGHT (#17) located near the southwest end of Cape Cod Canal in Massachusetts. This synopsis is issued in accordance with FAR Parts 5, 14, and 19. This acquisition is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The small business size standards for this NAICS code (237990) is $36.5M. PSC - Z1KB. Estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $200,000. Performance period is 105 days: 10 days for bonds, 65 days for submittals/admin, and 30 consecutive days for on-site construction; typical weather will not extend the performance period. The Government intends to invite bids on or around 25 November 2015. Expected bid due date: 29 December 2015. A bid guarantee will be required in the amount of 20% of the total bid. Payment and performance bonds will be required from the awardee in the amount of 100% of the total award. Bids must be valid for a minimum of 60 days. This is an FY16 project, and is subject to the availability of funds. Award will not be made unless/until funds are available. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation at any time. Any amendments to the solicitation will be posted on this website (FBO.gov). Bidders are required to acknowledge with their bid any and all amendments. Scope of Work The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation and disposal necessary to effect the following and incidental related work: 1. Remove and store all equipment from the existing structure 2. Install new anchor points, a new 5' x 5' structure (provided by the Government, 15' high) and install the stored equipment 3. Prepare surface of sheet pile bulkhead and apply new coating of rust converter primer and epoxy 4. Install two new 10" cleats on the concrete platform 5. Patch all concrete spalls and cracks 6. Demolition must begin no later than approximately 1 April 2016, before birds can nest and occupy the existing structure
