- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office has a future requirement For Houston Ship Channel, Placement Area 14 Dewatering, Chambers County, Texas. This project will require the contractor to perform dewatering of Placement Area 14, an upland site, in the middle of Galveston Bay. Schedule 1 work will consists of approximately 48,000 Linear Feet (LF) of perimeter and lateral ditching, in wet site conditions. If an Option is exercised the work consist will consist of an additional approximately 5,000 LF of perimeter and lateral ditching. Please note. Dredged Material Placement Area site conditions are extremely wet with soft material. The contractor will need to utilize low ground pressure equipment (such as a marsh buggy). Completion time for Schedule No. 1 is 160 calendar days and 30 calendar days will be added to the contract for the Option if exercised. The order of magnitude for this effort is estimated between $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. The estimated award date for this project is 12 Feb 2016. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (5) calendar days after award. The contractor shall begin work within (10) calendar days after acknowledgement of the Notice to Proceed. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $1,729.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The Government contemplates awarding a Firm-Fixed Price contract. This will be an Total Small Business Set-Aside procurement. This synopsis is not an obligation of the Government and all information sent in is voluntary. The Solicitation will be issued on or about 2 December 2015. To be considered small for purposes of Government procurement, a firm must perform at least 51 percent of the work with its own equipment.
