Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to award a contract to procure the Quick Engine Change Assembly-Front Lifting Eye (QECA), part number 48-0400-126044, used to remove and replace the engine in the Shipboard Tow Tractor A/S32A-49, PN: STT50 on a sole source basis with Schopf Maschinenbau Ostfildern Germany (CAGE): C2489. All welds are required to pass a Dye-Penetrant inspection IAW SAE AMS 2644 or ISO equivalent and a load test. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 4910 and the NAICS code is 333924. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price type contract with a contract quantity of 36 units. The contractor shall deliver the units three (3) months after contract award. Schopf Maschinenbau is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Shipboard Tow Tractor and owns the technical data for the lifting bracket. The government does not possess sufficient proprietary data the rights for the lifting bracket. NAWCADLKE intends to award this contract under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
