- CONTINUATION PAGE Attachment One - Vendor Questions: Q - Who is the incumbent and what is the incumbent pricing? A - The incumbent contractor is Sanford Clinic. The contract was a base year and four option years with an award value of $3,950,000.00. Q - What is the average time frame from bid due date to award? A - The average time frame is approximately 90 days. Q - Is Board Certification required? Will you consider a physician who is Board Eligible within 4 years of Fellowship? A - As stated in the solicitation, the requirement is for a Board Certified Cardiologist. Board Eligible will not meet the requirement. Q - Will you consider a non-Boarded Cardiologist who has VA experience? A - As stated in the solicitation, the requirement is for a Board Certified Cardiologist. Board Eligible will not meet the requirement. Q - Is on-call required? If so, what is the on-call schedule? What is the average number of calls received when on-call? A - The requesting service line has no historical data. Q - Do you have any historical data on how often the cardiologist may be required to answer a page and also be called back to the VAMC? A - The requesting service line has no historical data. Q - Is a DEA required? A - See Performance Work Statement (PWS) paragraph 2.1.9. Q - Is any ICU coverage required? A - ICU Coverage is required if the service is consulted on a patient in the ICU, or if someone has a question in reference to cardiology for a patient in the ICU. This does not mean the physician would need to come in and see the patient. They may be able to address the question or provide the advice over the phone. Q - What is the patient load per day for outpatient? Inpatient? A - The out patient load per day is flexible, the inpatient is probably around 1-2 per day. Q - How many other Cardiologists will be on staff during the locums assignment? A - There are no other Cardiologists on staff. Q - What support staff is available? A - There are 2 RNs and 2 admin supports for scheduling. Q - I had a question about the Off-hours Coverage, it states in the bid ---24 hours a day, seven days a week. Is this correct? Or will they share off-hours coverage with other physicians? Maybe on a rotation? A - The off tour on call will be more like 430pm-8am and then the entire weekend and holidays. We have no other physicians to share the call with. Q - The pricing sheet does not indicate that there is call however, page 18, 3.2.4.1 states the contractor shall provide consultative services to VA physicians 24 hours per day 7 days a week. The contractor must be able to respond by response of telephone to emergencies within 20 minutes of being called or paged. If call is need what is the call schedule. A - the Schedule of Services states the following in the description: 1.0 FTE Board Certified Cardiology Physician Services (On-Call Services - after-hours telephonic consultation all-inclusive).
