Description
** NOTE - This pre-solicitation notice is intended to provide a summary of subject procurement to all interested offerors. The Government is not responding to questions at this time. Questions from potential offerors will be accepted after formal solicitation release, which is expected in December 2015. ** The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to conduct a full and open competition and release a Request for Proposals in December 2015 for the accomplishment of the Post Shakedown Availabilities (PSAs) for one (1) Freedom Variant Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), with options for PSAs on five (5) additional Freedom Variant LCS ships. The PSA encompasses all the manpower, support services, material, facilities, non-standard equipment and associated technical data and documents required to prepare for and accomplish the PSA. The work to be accomplished will include correction of Government responsible trial card deficiencies, new work identified between ship custody transfer and the start of PSA, and the incorporation of approved engineering changes and emergent and other work that were not incorporated during the construction period and which are not otherwise the shipbuilder's responsibility. The scope of work requires drydocking capabilities and the successful offeror shall perform the work in the ships' homeport activity in Mayport, Florida. Disclaimer: This pre-solicitation notice is for information only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to solicit contractual offers or award contracts. The Government is not soliciting, nor will it accept, proposals as a result of this synopsis. If a solicitation is issued in the future, it will be announced via the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and interested parties must comply with that announcement. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any questions submitted or information provided as a result of this notice. This is not an RFP or a promise to issue an RFP and this information is subject to modification and in no way binds the Government to award a contract. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be provided or mailed. Interested offerors should monitor the identified website for the release of the solicitation. Since this solicitation, and any applicable amendments, will be issued electronically, the Government is under no obligation to maintain a bidder's mailing list.
