- Description
- Picture of road catch basin #2 Picture of road catch basin SF-30 Amendment to Solicitation HSCG28-16-Q-PMW004 Added November 17th 2015. See attached pictures of catch basin. RFI questions and answers from contractor. 1. How deep is it to either the top or the bottom of the existing pipe? A: The existing pipe that was exposed by CG personnel was approximately 36 inches deep. 2. What is reason for replacing current pipe? Is it crushed? Does it not have proper fall? Other? A: The existing clay pipe has collapsed and will not draining into the storm drain catch basin located by the fence line. 3. Based on what I read in scope of work, am I correct to interpret that there are two catch basins (one at each end)and they are both in good condition? Therefore neither one needs replaced as part of this solicitation? A: The catch basins seemed to be in good condition. The road catch basin seems to be the old 6 inch clay pipe. I have attached additional pictures of the road catch basin. As for the catch basin by the fence line, it seems to be in good condition. 4. Is there any asphalt that need removed to access the catch basins to tie in the drain pipe? A: It doesn't seem any asphalt needs to be removed to access the catch basins. 5. Are there sprinkler system lines in the area to be excavated? If so, will they be marked prior to work beginning? Or is that the responsibility of contractor? A: There are sprinklers in the area. Sprinkler will be marked by CG personnel before starting the job. 6. Are there any underground utilities in the area to be excavated? A: Doesn't seem any underground utilities exist in the area but I would use caution while excavating. The Coast Guard has been using this base since the 1930s.
