Description

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue a solicitation for the FY17 Drydock Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA) for the USS HELENA (SSN 725). The DSRA includes advance planning, engineering and design efforts, prefabrication, and shipyard execution work necessary to prepare and accomplish maintenance in support of the USS HELENA. The product of this DSRA is a repaired, mission-ready USS HELENA (SSN 725). It is anticipated that this will be a non-competitive procurement awarded to Huntington Ingalls Industries, Newport News Shipbuilding (HII-NNS), a nuclear-qualified contractor, located at 4101 Washington Avenue, Newport News VA 23607. Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact HII-NNS directly. The shipyard execution of the DSRA is projected to start 18 October 2017 and is scheduled for slightly under six months. The place of performance will be the ship's homeport area of Newport News, Virginia. The solicitation will be issued in Spring FY16 with a tentative date for receipt of the proposal within forty five (45) days of issuance of the solicitation.
