- Description
- The Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) is the single logistics center for the Coast Guard surface fleet, providing engineering, maintenance, supply, and technical information services to Coast Guard cutters and boats stationed throughout the United States. The SFLC purchases a wide variety of marine goods and services and we are committed to small business participation in our acquisition programs to support the fleet. The SFLC posts its upcoming forecast of opportunities on the Acquisition Planning Forecast System (AFPS), which is a portal for small business vendors to view projections of all anticipated opportunities estimated to exceed $150,000 that small businesses may be able to perform under direct contracts with the SFLC or perform part of the effort through subcontracts. APFS identifies all upcoming forecasted, but not necessarily funded, opportunities at http://apfs.dhs.gov/. We hope that APFS will assist you in doing business with SFLC. By helping vendors identify procurement opportunities as early in the acquisition process as possible, we hope to improve communication with industry and assist the small business community with its marketing efforts. Vendors seeking to track upcoming SFLC opportunities may register to be notified when anticipated opportunities are published to APFS. APFS is continually updated and informs the public of our projected requirements estimated to exceed $150,000, early in the process. Information on this site is organized in a manner to permit various data sorts, and the individual items include descriptions of required supplies or services and program points-of-contact (POC's) so that vendors can call and inquire about the specific program needs prior to formal solicitations being released. Marketing efforts are most effectively conducted with the Program Offices, since they originate the requirement and prepare its associated market research report. Vendors are encouraged to have their technical experts communicate with our technical personnel, as their knowledge of advances in technology and the firm's capabilities are much more helpful to us than generic sales presentations.
