- Solicitation # NIH-OD3974052, Scientific Nurse Consultant •1. How would NINR support any related online presentations, webinars, and meetings, such as NIH Videocast and closed CSR video-assisted meetings? (I can foresee very useful presentations and webinars that could also be recorded and shared online for students and nurse researchers.) •a. NINR is currently exploring ways to make a data repository available for investigators. Planning has not included webinars at this early stage of development, but may be supported in the future as a link on the NINR web site. •b. In the eventuality that NINR does produce some on-line presentations they will be made available via the NINR website and the U-tube channel. 2. What Common Data Elements have NINR and their funded researchers developed so far? What is the starting point? •a. The starting point of this initiative was to begin small and develop some CDE for selected symptoms (which were identified at a Centers for Excellence meeting). These include pain, fatigue, sleep, affective mood/well-being, and cognition. •b. Most of the measures for the CDE are PROMIS measures plus the Positive Affective and Well-being short form and the SF36 short form. The links were published in NOT-NR-16-001 and relate to the RFA-NR-16-001 and 002. •3. How does NINR see their CDE project overlapping with clinical data initiatives, such as the CMS minimum data set, the national ambulatory medical care survey, and various other national surveys? •a. Some of the CDEs will overlap across study types, which allows for comparisons and meta-analysis across studies. The consistency of the data elements and the CDE format are made to improve the ability to transfer critical medical information electronically and to allow for continuity across different disease areas. •b. The goals of the symptom CDEs are to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical research studies and clinical treatment, increase data quality, facilitate data sharing, and help educate new clinical investigators. 4. How does NINR see their CDE project overlapping with Nursing Minimum Data Set and standardized nursing terminology work by the ANA, ICN, and others? •a. We are identifying common data elements to measure variables in research. There might be some overlap in a few of the variables that we identify that are related to nursing interventions. •b. It is most relevant for people who are doing research on big data sets in practice. Can the nurse consultant work from anywhere or is there an office for them at the facility? Work from anywhere. No office provided. Is a computer and computer access available for the candidate, especially if functioning remotely? No computer is provided. How many hours a week or month do you project the individual will need to perform the required tasks of the SOW? Will be determined after award. •1) I wanted to know if the contractor will work 1920hrs/year. •a. No, the contract is for 308 hours only And also if there's an existing contract in place and the value of the contract. Yes, value is $48,000 •1. Is there a minimum threshold for publications and contributions to nursing science? Minimum would be 150 publications to include books, chapters, journals, etc. with some recognized print such as Journal of Nursing Review, Journal of School Psychiatry, Journal of Pediatric Psychology, Journal of Neuroscience Nursing. 2. Is there an expectation related to the HHS grants funding? For instance, is there a minimum threshold for dollar amounts or number of years as a HHS grant recipient? No minimum threshold, but expectation would be to have had at least 25-30 awards for an average of at least $350,000 in value for total awards. At least 20 years of grants and fellowship awards
