June 1 - August 6, 2016 Frequency: Annual Event Host Overview (mission, philosophy, etc.): The Udall Foundation is an independent federal agency that was established by Congress in 1992 that awards scholarships, fellowships, and internships for study in fields related to the environment and to American Indians and Alaska Natives in fields related to health care and tribal public policy. In 1998, the Foundation grew to include the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution, created by Congress as the federal government's only program focused entirely on resolving federal environmental disputes. The Foundation also operates the Parks in Focus program, connecting underserved youth to nature through photography. Event Objectives: Participants work with federal agencies and/or congressional offices in Washington, D.C. for approximately 10 weeks each summer. Attendees: 12 participants 1 Udall Foundation staff person Requirements: Location: Washington, D.C. or D.C. Metro Area (must be accessible via public transportation) DATE: June 1 - August 6, 2016 Facility: Preferred Facility Type: Long-term stay, corporate housing; university residence hall; or residential apartments. Total room nights: Approximately 858 (66 nights x 13 people) Guest Room Block Requirements Each individual requires a private sleeping room. Living arrangements may be as singles, doubles or suite style. Bathrooms should be private ensuite. Individuals may have a private or shared living area. A fully furnished kitchen should be part of the living area or suite and. include a standard-sized refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, oven, and dishwasher. Wireless internet should be available. Public transportation should be within reasonable walking distance OR the residence location should provide a complimentary, on-demand shuttle service to the public transportation stop or hub. Grocery stores, drycleaners, pharmacies, and restaurants should be located within a reasonable distance. The location should be secure, well-lit durng night-time hours, and reasonably safe. Room Rate: The nightly room rate cannot exceed $60 per individual. No Rebates, Assessments, or Commissions Will Be Paid on Room Rates. No taxes will be paid per room, as the Udall Foundation is a Federal Agency. Method of Reservations: Udall Foundation will provide room requirements for the group with participant names. Concessions Desired: On site laundry facilities Complimentary custodial services Complimentary wireless Internet Complimentary fitness center Complimentary use of bed linens Proposal Specifications The Udall Foundation expects that all work will be performed in a professional manner. Expenses related to the preparation and completion of a response to this RFP are the sole responsibility of the vendor. All decision factors will be considered in the determining the best proposal.
