Description
(i)This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii)The solicitation number is: VA259-16-Q-0091, and it is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). (iii)The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-82. (iv)This solicitation is not set-aside for Small Business. NAICS: 339112 Contract Line Items: Brand Name Only MULTI-MODE MICROPLATE DETECTION PLATFORM/SPECTRAMAX i3X WITH SECOND YEAR OF WARRANTY - QUANTITY - 1 EA (v)Description of requirements for the items to be acquired (Statement of Work): It is the intent of the Government to contract for the procurement of a SpectraMax i3x Multi-Mode Microplate Detection Platform for the study of monogenic hemorrhagic stroke syndrome. This syndrome has been increasingly recognized with the advent of MRI for diagnosis and is well presented in the Veteran population. Multiple studies confirm that CCM is found in 1 of every 200 to 250 persons. CCM is particularly prevalent in the Hispanic population - the most rapidly growing demographic in the military. Studies will employ cell culture, proteomics, cell signaling, ex vivo and in vivo systems to understand the mechanism of CCM and to develop new treatments for CCM and other forms of hemorrhagic stroke.
