Description
<DATE>1209 <YEAR>15 <CBAC>GPO371008 <PASSWORD> <ZIP>21005 <CLASSCOD>59 <OFFADD> US Army, CECOM, Logistics and Engineering Operations Directorate, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005 <SUBJECT>59--Sources Sought for replacement Environmental Control Units (ECUs) for NSN: 4120-01-521-2697 used with the PATRIOT Missile Defense System's Battery Command Post (BCP). <SOLNBR>N/A <RESPDATE>122315 <CONTACT>Scott Mahoney, RDER-PRP-G, (443) 395-6242 <DESC> This is a Market Survey to locate sources capable of supplying replacement ECUs for NSN: 4120-01-521-2697 with EPA-compliant refrigerant to be used with the PATRIOT Missile Defense System's Battery Command Post (BCP). The ECU is a self-contained, electrically powered unit that provides a minimum of 18,500 BTU/Hr for cooling or 12,000 BTU/Hr for heating, at 600 CFM. It utilizes 230 VAC, single phase 50/60 Hz and draws 4.4 kW at 20 Amps. The ECU is a split-pack configuration and consists of a condenser and an evaporator unit. The ECU is controlled by the ECU Control Unit, which is part of the Evaporator Unit, and is located on the front equipment rack above the workstation inside the shelter. The Evaporator Unit also houses the Evaporator Coil and the Heater Coils. The ECU cools, warms, or circulates existing shelter air, it does not bring in new outside air. The Condenser unit contains the Compressor, Dehydrator Compressor Coils, and Sight Glass all housed in one unit that is located on the front outer wall of the shelter. The Condenser also houses the Access Valves, used to add/remove refrigerant and purge the system during maintenance. This acquisition is for a one-time buy of between 0-75 ECUs with an option for spare parts packages to be provided with the ECUs. The Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the existing ECUs is Engineered Environments Incorporated. Detailed technical data for the manufacture or acceptance of the existing items is available from the Army. A new performance specification is currently being developed largely based on the existing ECU's performance specifications. Suppliers capable of furnishing this unit must so indicate, by writing via email to scott.h.mahoney4.civ@mail.mil. The response must include production lead time, production capacity by month, surge capacity, number of years part will be available, ranges for price breaks if applicable or any other information that could affect the acquisition, supply and delivery of the parts. The response should also include documentation such as a copy of a purchase order if the supplier was a vendor to the listed source or a statement from listed source demonstrating that the supplier can, in fact, supply the Army with this unit from the supplier listed above. Successful supplier may be required to warrant that the item supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army. For more information contact Scott Mahoney, RDER-PRP-G, (443) 395-6242. The deadline for response is 23 December 2015. <EMAIL> <ADDRESS> scott.h.mahoney4.civ@mail.mil <DESC>CECOM POC </SRCSGT>
