- Sources Sought Notice This is not a Request for Proposal, or, Request for Quotation, or, an Invitation for Bid. DLA Troop Support is conducting market research seeking to identify possible manufacturers that can supply a similar item, meeting or closely exceeding the description of a Pneumatic Chain Saw provided below. Acceptable items will be determined by matching or fully comparable technical characteristics provided by the offeror, or by the exact part number and source for any acceptable item given as an example on the solicitation. No immediate award technical evaluation may be needed or made in the event that an acceptable offer is made by both low dollar offer and is already identified or described as an example of an acceptable item. T he Government does not have any drawings or detailed specifications to provide. There is a reasonable expectation this type of item is currently commercially available. Required Technical Characteristics: ITEM NAME Chain Saw DRIVE METHOD Pneumatic PRESSURE RATING 90.0 Pounds Nominal CONNECTION SIZE 0.75NPT (¾") MECHANICAL CONNECT Female HORSEPOWER RATING 6.0 (not to exceed 10.00 HP) DESIGN TYPE One person operational unit FRAME TYPE Bar (for the chain drive) CUTTING CAPACITY Minimum 25.0 Inches in length (not exceeding 30.0 inches) OPERATING PRESSURE 90 PSI @ 100 CFM (cubic feet per minute) Standard wood cutting chain is to be included and mounted to the assembly. Approximate weight 15 to 17 lbs. without bar and chain, 29 to 32 lbs. with bar & chain mounted. Inlet ¾" Female NPT for ¾" standard hose diameter. Standard thread coupling/s. Performance uses include: Cutting plastics, wood, coal. Capable of continued use in a high dust environment (including coal mining), and underwater use with an attachment. The item is required to be fully compatible to the following compressor type (not included with the requirement). This compressor is already in use or otherwise a standard for this and other equipment uses. No alternate compressor type can be considered for the chain saw requirement. Questions or concerns regarding construction methods or design, cannot be addressed or answered. Meeting with technical safety requirements imposed on this type of commercial item, such as by OSHA, are the responsibility of the manufacturer. The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to gather information that will identify sources for the possibility of a solicitation for the referenced items under a one-time large, fixed price, fixed quantity contract. Manufacturers may be required to submit technical data packages and proof of business permit and or license for the locality. If a solicitation or solicitations would result, it/they would be advertised on the Government's DIBBS website, and or synopsized on the FedBizOpps website. It would be the offeror's responsibility to monitor those websites for any such notice/s.
