Description

Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Olympus America, Inc., pursuant to FAR 13.501(a). The proposed sole source contract is for a full service maintenance agreement for equipment in inventory. The manufacturer does not sell repair parts or provide training to third party service companies. Additionally, third party service companies are not subject to audit and inspection by the FDA. The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) procurement manual prohibits the use of third party service companies when outside of the authorized distribution channels of the manufacturer. Olympus America, Inc. (DUNS: 017019618) is the only responsible offeror with regard to this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Tuesday, December 15, 2015, 12:30PM, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Daniel Spaulding (contractor) at daniel.spaulding@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
