- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for the acquisition of the Reconstruction and Repair of Six hundred and thirty six (636) Thermo Fisher Scientific Mk2 Electronic Personal Dosimeters, with replacement of accessories and parts through the original manufacturer, Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is in support of the Navy RADIAC Program (NAVSEA 04ND) to repair units with more complicated, internal repairs by the manufacturer for re-entry of the Electronic Personal Dosimeters into Navy field operations. The NAICS code is 334511 and the Product/Service Code is 6665. The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Thermo Fisher Scientific. The proposed action is for the replacement, repair, and calibration of six hundred and thirty six (636) Mk2 Electronic Personal Dosimeters for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: Thermo Fisher Scientific is the manufacturer of the Mk2 dosimeters and is the only company that has the repair facilities and replacement accessories and parts for the Mk2 dosimeters for re-entry into the Navy field operations. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Thermo Fisher Scientific using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 04 January 2016. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 01/04/2016 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
