Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office has a future requirement For Houston Ship Channel, Morgans Point To Exxon And Barbours Cut Channel - Pipeline Dredging. This project requires the contractor to perform dredging of approximately 1,500,000 cubic yards of maintenance material from the Houston Ship Channel Morgan's Point to Exxon reach with an option for dredging of approximately 250,000 cubic yards of maintenance material from Barbours Cut. Maintenance dredging of 50.5' MLT channel, approximately 1,500,000 cubic yards of maintenance material from Houston Ship Channel to be deposited into Alexander Island Placement Area. Options for dredging approximately 250,000 cubic yards of maintenance material at Barbours Cut, also to be deposited into Alexander Island Placement Area. Multiple dredges may not be used on this contract. A specified order of work is required to complete this project in order to minimize dredge spacing issues with contracts in adjacent reaches of the channel. Completion time for Schedule No. 1 is 220 calendar days at an estimated production rate of 10,000 cy/day. The options if exercised will require an additional calendar 69 calendar days. The estimated award date for this project is 8 Apr 2016. The order of magnitude for this effort is estimated between $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. The estimated award date for this project is 8 Apr 2016. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (1) calendar day after award. The contractor shall begin work within (10) calendar days after acknowledgement of the Notice to Proceed. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $1,763.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The Government contemplates awarding a Firm-Fixed Price contract. This will be an Unrestricted procurement. This synopsis is not an obligation of the Government and all information sent in is voluntary. The Contractor must perform at least 65 percent of the work with its own equipment.
