- The Smithsonian Institution National Air and Space Museum (NASM) is located at 600 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC. NASM is seeking a design firm to develop and design state-of-the-art exhibitions. Three distinct exhibits fall under this RFP. The exhibits are tentatively titled Exhibit #1 - Exploring the Planets, Exhibit #2 - Destination Moon #3 - Planet Earth. This is one of three distinct RFPs for museum exhibit design at the Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space Museum. Each RFP has unique budgets, themes, content, and location. All three RFPs are on the same project schedule of three hundred fifty-five working days from Notice to Proceed and will be awarded at the same time. The attachments for all three of the RFPs can be found at http://airandspace.si.edu/rfp/exhibitions/ Note that to submit proposals for any of the RFPs, firms must have had experience designing at least two complex exhibits that integrated objects, images, and multimedia, in a space that is at minimum 10,000 sq./ft. You must document this experience in the Technical Proposal submission under Factor 4 - Past Performance. Bidders can submit proposals for more than one or all three RFPs. If you are submitting proposals for more than one NASM exhibit design RFP, you must explain your capacity to work on multiple NASM exhibit contracts as part of your Technical Proposal submission under Factor 2 - Management Plan. Significant questions pertaining to this RFP must be submitted no later than December 16, 2015 at 9 am EST. via email only to Debra Berke, Contracting Specialist at berked@si.edu. Proposals and proposal modifications shall be submitted in two distinct files. An email response is acceptable followed up by FOUR HARD COPIES of the technical proposal and ONE HARD COPY of the business proposal. PROPOSALS MUST BE RECEIVED VIA EMAIL NO LATER THAN JANUARY 20, 2016 AT 5:00 P.M. (EST). The email response should be submitted to Debra Berke, at berked@si.edu. Provided that the electronic copy is received at the above email address by the above stated deadline, the hard copy should be received no later than JANUARY 22, 2016 AT 5:00 P.M. at the address in Section L.4 of the RFP. The dates for the in person presentations has been changed to February 29 - March 4, 2016. Please replace section L.1.10 with the following paragraph. L.1. 10 Presentation of Proposals. At Smithsonian's option, any or all of the offerors will be required to meet NASM staff and other Smithsonian representatives in-person in Washington DC to discuss proposals and answer questions. Each offeror shall plan to include its Key Personnel in such meeting. Travel and per diem for this meeting will be the responsibility of the offeror. The dates for the in person presentations will be during the week of February 29 - March 4, 2016. Offerors are asked to be available during this time frame.
