- Description
- The Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Global Positioning Systems Directorate (GP) intends to release a solicitation, Request for Proposal (RFP) FA8807-15-R-0003 for the Global Positioning System III (GPS III) Space Vehicles (SV) 11+ Phase 1 Production Readiness Feasibility Assessment on or about 8 January 2016. The solicitation is envisioned to be issued and conducted pursuant to FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation. It will be a full and open competition resulting in up to three contracts awarded on a firm fixed price (FFP) basis. The scope of this effort includes the current GPS III SV01-08 technical baseline with the addition of redesigned Nuclear Detonation Detection System (NDS), Search and Rescue/GPS (SAR/GPS), and Laser Retroreflector Array (LRA) payloads, Unified S-Band (USB) compliance, Regional Military Protection capability and no changes to the GPS Next Generation Operational Control System (OCX) or Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE) interfaces. Interested contractors may request access to the Bidder's Library by emailing the point of contact listed below and must obtain and sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to being granted access to the Bidder's Library. Responses from small and small disadvantaged businesses are highly encouraged. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 336414. The small business size standard is 1000 employees. The proposed period of performance for the effort is 26 months for the basic contract, and two options for 6-months each, for a total possible period of performance of 38 months.
