Description
Solicitation - AG-03R6-S-16-0015 USDA Forest Service, Western Montana Acquisition Zone Posted: November 17, 2015, Updated: January 7, 2016 Due: March 2, 2016 POC: Contracting Officer Jeanne Windle (406) 329-3756 Code: 237310 Updated: January 7, 2016. Funds for this project are NOW available. Please review the information below regarding the project. The dates listed below are still applicable. Although funds are currently not available for this project, the Government wanted to give contractors an opportunity to visit the project site before inclement weather prohibits access. In the event that funds become available, the Government will post the solicitation package and may make an award. At this time, no formal site visit is schedule for this project. Access to the site is anticipated to be available from November 17, 2015 through December 1, 2015 pending weather. The project is located on the Swan Lake Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest, Lake County, Montana. It can be reached from Bigfork, MT by taking the Swan Hwy (Hwy 83) south approximately 38 miles and turning right onto NFS Road # 966. Continue on NFS Road # 966 approximately 1.7 miles turn left at the junction with NFS Road # 888 and continue for 3.1 miles to the bridge site. See attached map. The Forest Service anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price construction contract to remove an existing timber bridge on Jim Creek and replacing it with a new precast, prestressed concrete bridge. The physical description of the project is as follows: located in the Flathead National Forest on National Forest System Road No. 888 at Mile Post 3.15 in the Swan Lake Ranger District in Section 32, T. 22 N., R. 17 W., Lake County, Montana. The work includes but is not limited to clearing and grubbing, erosion control measures, structure excavation, roadway embankment, backfilling, compacting, removing and disposing an existing timber bridge, salvaging existing timber stringers and curbs, riprap, furnishing and installing precast, prestressed concrete girders and precast concrete foundations, furnishing and placing crushed aggregate, furnishing and placing hot asphalt concrete, and all other incidental items necessary to complete the project in accordance with the plans and specifications. The precise details of performing the work are not stipulated except as considered essential for the successful completion of the work. This procurement is being set-aside 100% for small business. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies (other than for those listed as Government-furnished items) and supervision necessary to complete the work according to the contract. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 237310 highway, street and bridge construction and the small business size standard is $36.5 million, set-aside 100% for small business. As stated above, funds are not currently available for this project and by placing a notice in Federal Business Opportunities; it does not commit the Government in making an award on this project. It is estimated the solicitation package will be available approximately on January 28, 2016 and should be downloaded from this website at that time. No hard copies will be mailed out. Please check the website for amendments issued on this project. The work is estimated to begin April 11, 2016 and completed by August 31, 2016 which is approximately 142 calendar days. The construction magnitude of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
