UPDATE 01/07/2016: The due date for registration and to turn in the capabilities statement and business declaration has been EXTENDED to 01/20/2016, still at 4:00pm Pacific Time. **Notice to Participants: The list of interested vendors are subject to public release.** ORIGINAL POST: 12/21/2015: PURPOSE: The purpose of this announcement is to notify Industry that the FAA plans to hold a Pre-Solicitation Conference in anticipation of the release of a solicitation for the Major Mechanical Sustainment (MMS) Project at the FAA ™s Salt Lake City ARTCC in Salt Lake City, Utah. GOAL: The goal of the Pre-Solicitation Conference is to improve the Government ™s understanding of the current marketplace and to identify capable sources pertaining to the MMS project. The conference will advise Industry of the Government ™s anticipated requirements, assist the Government in understanding the capabilities of Industry and the potential for meeting the Government ™s requirements and obtain industry ™s input on the most effective means of meeting the Government ™s requirements. The conference will foster networking within Industry and exchange of information between Government and Industry, to gain Industry input and to answer Industry questions. The Government will share with the contractor community, the following: Overview of the project. Unique FAA and facility requirements for this project. FAA expectations and concerns for this project. FAA ™s goals for this project. Overview of the FAA ™s Acquisition Management System (AMS) and how it pertains to this project. BACKGROUND: The Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) in Salt Lake City, UT is scheduled for a major upgrade to its chilled water plant and legacy mainframe computer room. The project will be bid with two standalone drawing/spec packages. The two packages will be referred to as Chiller/Cooling Tower Modernization and Control Wing Basement Modernization. The chilled water plant consists of four 330 ton chillers and a 3-cell cooling tower. All controls would be replaced with FAA national standard Schneider Electric controls. The Control Wing basement contains a 5,300 square foot legacy mainframe computer room which would be modernized for electronic equipment space. Work includes all new architectural finishes, new raised access floor, and other alterations and repairs. There is a small amount of asbestos containing material associated with this project. The FAA desires to use collaborative project delivery in the pre-construction and construction phases. ESTIMATED DOLLAR VALUE: Between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. LOCATION: The Pre-Solicitation Conference will be held at the: Residence Inn Salt Lake City Downtown 285 West Broadway (300 S) Salt Lake City, Utah 84101 Ballroom DATE: The MMS Pre-Solicitation Conference will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. All interested vendors are advised that the FAA will not pay for any information, travel or any administrative costs incurred that are associated with any response received from industry in response to this Market Survey/Pre-Solicitation Conference. Therefore, any costs associated with vendor's market Survey/Pre-Solicitation Conference submissions/attendance will be solely at the interested vendor's expense. The Government is not liable for costs associated with the preparation, submittal of inquiries or responses for this announcement and will not reimburse any firm for costs incurred in responding to this announcement.
