Description
INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build construction for the EXPAND & RENOVATE AMBULATORY CARE & LAB project at the Bonham, TX VA Medical Center (VAMC). PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for the EXPAND & RENOVATE AMBULATORY CARE & LAB project as required by drawings and specifications. This project constructs 17,570 SF of new space for Ambulatory Care services which connects to the existing building. This project also constructs 5,764 SF of mechanical space and renovates 12,940 SF of existing interior space. Work includes general construction, alterations, parking lots, walks, grading, drainage, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as an "Invitation for Bid" (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 14, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as Full and Open Competition. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $36.5 million. The solicitation will be issued on or about January 22, 2016. The period of performance is approximately 730 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
