Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Rantec Microwave Systems, Inc. to provide for the repair of one (1) G-IV tail Doppler antenna for the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) located in Tampa, FL. A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on December 24, 2015 and closed on December 31, 2015. No responses were received. Justification for Sole Source Rantec Microwave Systems, Inc. located in Westlake Village, CA has been identified as the only known source that can provide the needed repair that will also meet the Government’s intended use based on the company currently possesses all the pertinent proprietary design data as well as calibration and alignment procedures to certify the GIV Tail Doppler Antenna to the original specifications.
