- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order to Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. The purpose is to train 18 Soldiers on the operation, maintenance, and testing of Schweitzer relay models SEL-351S and SEL-551C, using the specific Schweitzer Relay training curriculum. No competition is being sought. This training is essential in order to effectively support the FBM mission in Japan. As the Soldiers of Alpha Company begin to operate non-organic equipment in Shariki, this required training becomes an integral part of every Soldier's knowledge base. Due to the unavailability of government instructors, a need has arisen to subsidize the required training with professional educators. The period of performance shall be from February 1, 2016 through February 5, 2016. The schedule provided below is based on Schofield Barracks classroom availability. The instructor will teach one iteration of five day classes beginning on February 1, 2016 and end on February 5, 2016 (weekend days will be excluded from the training schedule). An opportunity will be available to the instructor to set up as needed on February 1, 2016. This is a special notice prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. A solicitation will not be posted. However, any firm that believes it can meet this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within fifteen (15) days of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends on proceeding with awarding a fixed price contract to Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. Point of contact for this requirement is Shuna Ross at 703-428-8487 or shuna.k.ross@usace.army.mil. Address: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, HECSA, 7701 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA 22315.
