- Description
- This announcement is notice that the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Polar Icebreaker Replacement Program intends to host an Industry Day followed by one-on-one meetings with prospective shipbuilders and ship designers as a part of ongoing market research. Both the industry day and one-on-one meetings will be held in the Washington, DC metro area. Industry Day is tentatively planned to occur in March 2016. The one-on-one sessions will be scheduled to take place in the weeks following Industry Day. An announcement detailing specific locations, times, and response requirements will be posted at a later date. In advance of these details, the USCG is releasing a draft data package that includes a notional program schedule, notional Polar Icebreaker requirements, and questions that the Government intends to discuss during the one-on-one meetings. Limited Access/Export Controlled Data Package The draft data package is subject to Export Control limitations, and is deemed a "limited access" and "export controlled" package within the FBO system. Vendors will require an "explicit access" grant by the USCG in order to view the document via the FBO system. To be granted access to this draft data package, vendors must be certified as a US or Canadian contractor by the Joint Certification Program (JCP) administered by the Defense Logistic Information Service (DLIS). Instructions and procedures for being certified by JCP can be found at http://www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp/. Only those vendors that have current certification by JCP will be able to be granted explicit access to the draft data package by the USCG. The USCG does not intend to grant vendors access to these documents outside of the FBO site.
