- AM0003 The work consists of furnishing one fully crewed and equipped self-propelled trailing suction-type hopper dredge on a rental basis for the removal and satisfactory disposal of shoal material in the Atchafalaya River Bar Channel (Station 700+00 to Station 1355+00), St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. This demonstration project requires the dredge to perform agitation dredging by pumping directly overboard at or above the water surface while bypassing the hopper. The dredge, while in the agitation mode, shall not discharge material below the water surface. The dredge must perform at the same slurry velocity at the dragarm(s) as if the dredge material was pumped into the hopper whether in the dredge-and-haul mode or agitation mode as described in Section 35 20 33.23, paragraph 2.1.4.d.(2). Work may be required in other areas of the New Orleans District and in areas of both the Galveston and Mobile Districts. The estimated value of this work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The solicitation will issue on or about 08 September 2015, and a bid opening date will be held on 20 January 2016 at 2:00 pm local time and place. This is an UNRESTRICTED procurement.
