This study is funded by Armed forces Health Surveillance Branch (AFHSB) - Global Emerging Infections Surveillance and Response (GEIS), and executed by the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit No. 6 (NAMRU-6). Currently, this study is active in five Latin American countries: Peru, Paraguay, Honduras, Colombia, and Venezuela.
