- NOI January 13, 2016 Solicitation Number: SSA-RFI-15-DITSM Notice Type: Special Notice The Social Security Administration intends to extend contract number SS00-16-51010 with Progressive Tech. Federal Sys., Inc. on a sole source basis for a total period of 18 Months. The purpose of this contract is to provide maintenance subscriptions for software products. Continued maintenance of these products is essential. Access to upgrades, updates, and fixes and patches ensures software continues to be compatible with the operating system and is in good working order. Without maintenance, there is potential for a major workload disruption. Progressive Tech. Federal Sys., Inc. provides unique patches and technical assistance necessary to support Plexus software products. Any interruption to maintenance can severely affect our service to the public. This extension will cover the period of 10/1/16 - 3/31/17. This procurement is being made under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The sole source is based on Progressive Tech. Federal Sys., Inc.'s unique ability to perform the services. This is not a formal solicitation. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that the required capability is available from other sources and competition would be advantageous to the Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. If no affirmative written response is received, the procurement will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
