Description

LCLSC16R0014 Attachment 1 - Specification #800-852-11 The Moving Image Section of the Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound (MBRS) Division of The Library of Congress (LOC) requires the purchase of conservation quality motion picture film cans in order to preserve acetate and polyester-based motion picture film. These cans must be capable of storing 16mm- and 35mm-guage film in a variety of sizes and will be used to house motion picture film material in cold vaults. As part of the conservation stabilization efforts, these items must be properly ventilated and prevent chemical reactivity between the film and its housing in order to ensure that the rate of decay will be as slow as possible.
