Description
The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is hosting an Industry Day for the Rayburn Garage Rehabilitation Project on January 25, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center in the Congressional Meeting Room - North. This event is for businesses interested in working on projects with the AOC and is designed to provide information about doing business with the AOC. The Industry Day is free and open to any business and reservations are recommended by January 22, 2016 at 5PM. Please e-mail aocprocurement@aoc.gov if you would like to attend. (You do not need to be present to submit for this contract.) The AOC is responsible for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of 17.4 million square feet of buildings and more than 553 acres of land throughout the U.S. Capitol complex in Washington, DC. The AOC has a need to maintain and repair the buildings, building structures and grounds of the U.S. Capitol complex; conserve and repair historical objects and artwork; and support the overall functions of the AOC as a Legislative Branch agency. The work of this upcoming contract is the rehabilitation of the Rayburn House Office Building Garage which is a five story, below grade, interior garage structure with a gross area of approximately 924,300SF. The construction will be conducted in four phases, with phase one as the base-bid and phases 2, 3 and 4 as options, including the plaza level above phase 1. Construction will commence in 2016 and will be completed in 2021. The parking garage slab structure was designed to utilize electric powered hydro-demolition process to mitigate dust, extreme noise conditions. Rehabilitation will also include the replacement of electrical system, electrical lighting, sprinkler system, fire alarm system, plumbing system and mechanical ventilation system.
